We're becoming the Spinach Boys from Evander
If that rock was any bigger the makers of the fast and the furious would have hired it for a role in the next movie
So you see, there is "the rock" an then you get "Thee Rock"
This is such a good idea.
I had a hard time understanding how the plumbing worked. What are the sand filters used for?
Why not starting them in granulate directly? Perlite or cocos?
❤ I am interested in seeing your progress.
Thanks browse through the channel you'll see allot has changed since this video 😁
That's medicine to my eyes 😍
The sound of the flowing water of the aquaponics is like medicine for the ears also😁
@@ProjectHomeGrown absolutely!!
Hi i am glad to see your new project of Aquaponics. I am from Senegal ( west Africa)
Thank you, this is only part 1 of 3 the sise of the system will triple by the end of the year
😅 go Steve go you are 👍
Thank you. Far more informative than a LOT of other videos I've watched. I've failed with getting my peach tree cuttings to root before.. going to try again following the process you've explained 👏🏼
Since this video I've seen if you struggle to root your cuttings and you have access to the trees rather do air layering. That will give almost guarantee results
Jho.. those are some crazy roots your strawberry plant has.
The strawberrys seems to do exceptionally well in the aquaponics. And propagated super easily
Yay!! Great to find a fellow SAffer to follow 👏🏼
Ha, ha. Stranded bank was een van die borge en was baie ontsteld.
😂😂😂😭😭
Wow, super looking roots!!!!! Great job!
Thanks so much!
Do you have any videos on Aquaponics Sand Beds and how to set them up and run them? Thanks.
Not yet! But we are currently busy with building a new bigger commercial system that will utilize sand beds. I will show the whole process of building that system here on the channel.
@@ProjectHomeGrown Sounds great!
is that perlite floating on water? and you will plant in it?
So its a square raft I built out of polystyrene, there are wholes drilled in the bottom with 100mm net pots, then it is filled with perlite. So the frame is floating ontop of the water but the perlite also floats. Even when waterlogged. So this is a DWC version of a wicking floating media bed. We are testing everything from potatoes toe onions in this one.
@@ProjectHomeGrown Do you have a longer video about this setup and the plants you grow in it? Thanks.
How long will it take for first good fruit fruit compared to grafted or planted from seed?
So from the results of this transplant, the first fruits were only like 10 fruits. After I planted out of the pot the following year about 20 and now its just loaded .
Ons Saluut you Steve ons Land
Great video. I looked for a report back on these peach tree cuttings but can’t see it in your feed.
So I was supposed to make a video about that but never got around to it. I have some of them growing in pots I will record and do a belated update video.
@@ProjectHomeGrown please let me know when you do.
Sarap talaga ang fresh na gulay ❤

Yeah that's the definition of life😊
Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe shit😌
I hear a bird.
Hi so do you have water filter in your pond .I'm new to aquaponics and starting a small setup
Hallo yes, I have an array of different filters. I'll do a video on it to show how all the different filters work
Dis nie hoe mense moet staan terwyl hulle DIE STEM sing nie !
How old are those trouts?
Roughly 12 to 13 months
Very nice does trout not require lots of flow in the water ..I notice your pond is low movement...just a student asking
What are you gonna do with that ?
We are breaking the soil ripping the grass then removing the graas by hand and then planting vegetables in that patch.
Nice job my friend
Thank you very much 🙏
This caused Steve many problems in the now Marxist South Africa.
Ironic that a poem with word that have zero offencive words will be outlawwed
St Genevieve thank you new smyrna turtles tanks .
Thanks for the comment please show us 😁 glad it helped 🤠
Dear sir, Hope you are doing well. I was analyzing your RUclips channel. I am really impressed by your videos but your RUclips channel has some issues. You have made many videos but your RUclips channel is not getting views and subscribers as expected. Because you have no complete SEO for any videos, no channel tags, no video tags, If you SEO your videos, your subscribers, views will increase and your channel will grow. I can help you if you want.
looks like paddy hoolihan
I’m confused why you use compost. From what I’ve read you would want to use a soiless media with no inert material.
The inert material is just so the cutting where there is technicly a wound don't become infected with fungus bacteria ext. It helps the cutting stay healty during the root establishment. You can use a wide variety of media for rooting. I use compost because if they root the nutrients are available and I can leace the cuttins in the bags untill I eventually can transplant them.
I’m curious about peach trees. How do they grow on their own root systems. Every peach tree that I’ve grown were grafted onto a different rootstock. Please explain
Hello Luke sorry for only replying now. So they graft the peaches to make them bare fruit faster. Cuttings are basicly the same thing, but with rooting cuttings you dont have a tap root where as if you graft onto a rootstock you have a stronger root system. Both will give fruit faster than just growing from the seed itself.
Seems like this is how we keep the squirrels out!
In South-Africa in my province atleast I don't have any pest issues. Exept for some people lol
Like I said,😂
Like you said ?
You're way too slow Esau!
That's not actual training, My bag tore and I made a video about how I disasembled the whole bag and reassembled it. That was just playing around for 10 sec.
I'll post the full video below

great, greetings aquaponics
I love this! You said marigolds and other edible flowers but are those nasturtium? What plants do you grow?
@vincent7768 yes that is correct 👍 in our folks tongue we call it "Afrikanertjies" but we know it as marigolds and the scientific name is Nasturtium
@@ProjectHomeGrown I have some nasturtiums sprouts but seeing your harvest I know now that I made the right choice! Please keep up the good work!

Hulle bly Apies al vat jy hulle kerk toe ook Sondag!!!!
Thank you for this video! Do you have an update on your peach cuttings? The OTHER and best reason for cutting the top at a slant is so that water rolls off and does not pool at the top, which can cause rot or introduce disease. Sealing it, however, makes it unnecessary. I recommend sealing it to help with moisture loss.
